This article is a list of all of the Speedrun.com categories for Karlson.
Karlson (Itch.io)
Full Game
Main Game Categories
Any%
- Any% is the most popular category on Speedrun.com. It is the first category showed on the website when clicking on the game.
- It is performed by completing the game in intended order in any way without using any banned major glitches such as double crouch. It is also the category with the longest world record history.
All Enemies
- All Enemies is performed by completing the game in intended order and killing every enemy found in every level.
- It is the only category on the full game board which allows the use of a mod. (Enemy counter)
Gunless
- Gunless is performed by completing the game without shooting any gun (including the grapple gun). Picking up and throwing weapons, however, is permitted.
Level Segments
Each Level Segments category has 3 subcategories: Any%, Gunless, and All Enemies.
Sandbox
- Sandbox Level Segments is performed by completing all Sandbox levels including Tutorial in intended order.
Escape
- Escape Level Segments is performed by completing all Escape levels in intended order.
Sky
- Sky Level Segments is performed by completing all Sky levels in intended order.
OwO
- OwO is the shortest full game category, and is completed by reaching the platform behind the start of tutorial that holds the text "owo what are you doing here? :3". It is the only category to be marked as miscellaneous and not be in Category Extensions on speedrun.com.
Levels
As a counterpart to Full Game, the Levels categories (sometimes known as IL's) is a category in which the runner must complete a specific level as fast as possible.
Any%
- Any% is performed by completing the level in any way without using any banned major glitches such as double crouch.
All Enemies
- All Enemies is performed by completing the level and killing every enemy found within it.
- It is the only category on the levels board which allows the use of a mod. (Enemy counter)
Gunless
- Gunless is performed by completing the level without shooting any gun (including the grapple gun). Picking up and throwing weapons, however, is permitted.

Category Extension on speedrun.com is any category that is either too unusual, unpopular or unconventional to be on the main category list.
Full Game
Gunless All Enemies
Gunless All Enemies is the first category shown on the category extensions on speedrun.com.
- It is performed by completing the game in intended order without using any weapons and killing all enemies.
Double crouch
- The double crouch category is performed by completing the game in intended order while being allowed to use the double crouch glitch. The double crouch glitch must be used at least once in the attempt.
- The category used to be in the main categories section, but was moved to category extensions when the page was created.
Death
- Death category is performed by dying as quickly as possible in every level in intended order.
- It is one of the only categories that are timed in RTA (Real Time Attack).
Escape 2 glitchless
formerly known as Escape 2 clipless.
- Escape 2 glitchless is performed by beating Escape 2 without using any glitches, namely wall clipping or prop boosting.
- It is the only non-IL category that requires the completion of a single level.
Boomer
- The Boomer category is performed by completing the game in intended order while playing with the boomer mod.
- It is one of the only categories that require mods to complete.
Escape Escape
- Escape Escape it completed by playing all of the Escape levels in the game in order and clipping out and dying in the void in each level.
- This is timed in IGT (In Game Time), unlike the Death category.
Long Runs
- The Long Runs category is completed by playing the game (Any%) and taking as long as possible.
Levels
Gunless All Enemies
- Gunless All Enemies is performed by completing the level without using any weapons and killing all enemies.
Double Crouch
- The Double Crouch category is performed by completing a level while being allowed to use the double crouch glitch.
noslraK
- noslraK is a category in which the player must complete the level's counterpart in the mod noslraK (Mod), a mod that swaps the players spawn location and the milk around, making the player spawn at the end and traverse the level backwards.
- It is one of the only categories that require mods to complete.
Boomer
- The Boomer category is performed by completing the level while playing with the boomer mod.
- It is one of the only categories that require mods to complete.
